Frequently asked questions
1. Q: What can I expect coming to couples counseling?
A: You can expect to fill out initial paperwork and basic information. You can expect confidentiality and a safe place to discuss your concerns. You can warmth and non-judgement from myself as well. For any couple there is a simple 3 step process to jump start your relationship:
Step 1 - Contact me to set up an initial 80 minute couple session. I will get information from you on what brings you in and a full relationship history. After your session I will send you a link to The Gottman Relationship Checkup.
Step 2 - Each partner will have a 50 minute individual session that will review their personal and relationship histories.
Step 3 – A feedback session that reviews the couple initial session, Gottman Relationship Checkup and the individual sessions. You will find your strengths and challenges in your relationship and we will make a plan for your relationship to get on track!
2. Do you take insurance?
A: I am considered an out-of-network provider and do not take insurance. You will be required to pay before session and will fill out information to easily pay for your session. I will provide you with everything you need and even submit your claim for you so you can get reimbursed. Most insurances do not reimburse or cover couples counseling. If you present with a mental health diagnoses upon assessment, then it is most likely your insurance will reimburse you.
